About the Band

Syler, the Boy

With influences from Coldplay, Supertramp, and songwriters like Paul Simon, Ben Folds & John Mayer, Syler creates a modern, analog, and moody sound.

Hailing from the heartland of Kansas City, Syler’s upbringing was saturated with musical influences. Raised by a father who was a musician pursuing the dream of becoming a country star and a mother who was a dedicated schoolteacher. He became passionate about learning music at a young age and joined the family band as a bassist at 11. From living room performances to school talent shows, he honed his craft, turning personal experiences into lyrical narratives.

The dissolution of his parents’ marriage introduced a poignant theme into his life’s composition, one of resilience, heartbreak, and melancholy. He maintained his love for instrumentation into his adulthood and played in several rock / alternative bands, picking up a love for piano, guitar, drums, and vocals. During these years he was able to develop his passion for songwriting and work as a producer and engineer, building confidence to record his own songs.

Syler has since left his roots of Kansas City and moved to the mountains to focus on producing the backlog of songs that he has written.
