About the Band

Mindy Smokestack

Singer/Songwriter

Mindy Smokestack is a Singer/Songwriter based out of Honolulu. Her sultry voice and eclectic style blends the likes of Blues, Modern Motown and Soul music. Smokestack is inspired by artists such as; Amy Winehouse, Etta James and Erika’s Badu.

“ I was Born in Hamburg Germany and raised in Kohala Hawaii, my love for music came from my parents. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember but nothing compares to the richness of singing on the praise and worship team at my church and giving thanks to the Most High. It’s where I learned to be kind, strong, resilient, forgiving and gracious; connecting heart and mind through song.

I’m  passionate about connecting with people in an authentic way to create space for vulnerability through songs and my life stories. Life can be challenging, especially today living in the chains of society. I believe that together we can cultivate a more empathetic and compassionate world one song, one person at a time; so that we may all bask in the beauty of true  Freedom.”
