Melissa Amber McKinney was pretty reserved as a child, but her mom had been singing to her since before she was born. When Melissa was in kindergarten, she asked her mom to sign her up to sing in the talent show. Melissa has been singing on stages long before she was comfortable talking on them. As a middle schooler, she picked up playing chords on the piano. Since then, she’s picked up a few other instruments. Most of her singing and songwriting has been inspired by her faith in Jesus. She leads the music at her church, and she is currently attending seminary, training to be a pastor.
