Having grown up in a village in the West of Portugal to
the sound of English avant-garde (Kate Bush, Mike
Oldfield) and synth-heavy pioneers (Depeche Mode,
Kraftwerk); survived her teens on trip-hop, grunge and
Lana Del Rey; and lived by the words of Portuguese poet
Manel Cruz – the “Serena Kaos sound” is its own lane of
avant pop.
She moved to London in 2021, where videos of her
performing in the street caught the attention of many,
building an audience of around 130k followers on social
media and leading to a European tour.
With two singles released this autumn and the second
album released in March 2026, an unmistakable voice and a
hypnotic stage presence, Serena Kaos stands at a moment
of clear artistic definition.
