Dominque Robbins also known as DMINQ is an LGBTQ R&B/Pop/Hip Hop artist that currently resides in Rocky Ford, CO. Dominque began his music journey at the age of two years young singing and showing an interest in music. Dominque grew up singing in church, playing multiple instruments in church and school and even getting opportunities to play and sing for many Gospel and Christian artists. Dominque later became a worship pastor and a worship educator. After about five years Dominque left the church and began writing and producing music on his own and in 2010 released his first mixtape under record label Confidential Records. Since then Dominque has released a total of four mixtapes, over 20 singles, two albums and currently working on album number three as well as producing, writing, and singing for other artists around the country.
Dominque now holds the title for being the first black and lgbtq radio show host on La junta, Colorados radio station Thunder Media with the show Soulful Expressions which is now in looking for a new home. He has done all of this and still found time to open the first arts and entertainment production company and professional recording studio in Rocky Ford named ART MATTERS PRODUCTIONS, which has now been in business for almost two years.
Art Matters Productions has begun cultivating the artist community by creating AMP Rising Stars Mentorship Program. This program is focused on Dominque taking aspiring or current music artists in the Arkansas Valley and turning them into working independent recording artists and performers. So far Dominque has signed two local artists Caitlyn Tibbles and Violet Michaelis to his mentorship program and both are doing amazing work.
In 2024 Dominque has plans on beginning his non profit organization that is focused on bringing aide and resources to independent artists in the entire state of Colorado and within five years the nation. Dominque also participated in StartUp Colorados Business Coopetition Competition. Although he didn’t win he still walked away receiving one of the higher scores, and making some really big connections with other business owners and venues in other rural towns who has expressed they would like to see an Art Matters Productions and AMP Rising Stars in their towns.
Art Matters Productions has gained many connections to bands and artists from all over the state of Colorado and is hoping to bring more of them to the valley as he has done in 2022 and 2023!
Lastly, Dominque has experience as a Marketing Chairman for Out Loud Colorado Springs Men’s Chorus. Dominque began over eight years ago as a volunteer, but in 2022 he took on the role of Marketing Chairman and in just a few months with his plan in place, Out Loud completely sold out their first four shows, which has not happened since the group was formed in 2006. Also under his leadership Out Loud went viral on Tik Tok and even increased their followership on social media by 200%. Dominque also with his team developed commercials and even made very big connections in the areas of TV, Radio, and Venues for the chorus which led to another set of sold out shows and led a small group of the chorus on a Pride Fest Tour across the state. Dominque has done all of this and more, and of course is showing zero signs of stopping or slowing down.
Dominque is also an award recipient of the LGBTQ Chamber Of Commerce 40 Under 40 Business Leader Award
