About the Band

Salt River Suburbia is a pop-punk/Indie band from Phoenix, Arizona, that blends catchy melodies, energetic riffs and relatable lyrics. The band jokingly coined a term “Southwest Emo” and not only did it stick, we like to think we founded the genre. Formed in 2023, the band consists of three music enthusiasts: Joeseph “Kyle” (vocals, bass), Corey “Taters” (drums) and Dean “Bean” (guitar, vocals). Inspired by bands from Blink-182, A Day to Remember, Taking Back Sunday to softer bands like Tiny Moving Parts, Modern Baseball, Free Throw to much heavier bands such as Periphery, Gojira and ISSUES. Salt River Suburbia writes songs that reflect their experiences and emotions as ordinary people growing into individuals they would have looked up to in their youth. Their music explores themes such as love, loss, friendship, angst, identity and rebellion – with a touch of humor and sarcasm.

The band is currently recording an EP and plan to drop it in summer 2024 titled “Welcome to the Neighborhood” and have dates to hit the local circuit showcasing their material. The feedback on their first EP has been a very positive one with fans from out of state commuting to catch Salt River Suburbia play in Phoenix. They have shared the stage with other Phoenix based bands such as Louis on Tour, Live Deliberate and Arsenic Kitchen.
