About the Band
Craig Douglas Miller of Blueburst
guitarist/vocalist
Craig Douglas Miller is the auteur of alternative rock project Blueburst, made in defiance of the notion that it’s ever too late to pursue one’s passion, and resurrecting a music career once thought lost.
After major label interest for his 1990s band, The Reach, never quite panned out, Miller entered a 20 year period of musical hibernation due to untreated clinical depression and writer’s block.
However, a fortuitous meeting with legendary guitarist Marty Willson-Piper changed everything. Inspired by Willson-Piper’s guidance, Miller reconstructed his home studio and completed an album’s worth of original songs.
Together, Miller and Willson-Piper deliver a lush, guitar-based sound rooted in ’80s alternative and post-punk, but with a timeless feel. Meanwhile, themes of seizing life’s fleeting moments and striving to leave a mark on the world permeate the sonic tapestry.
Blueurst’s debut album Significance dropped in October 2023 and a new album is planned for 2025. Their latest release “The Pass” is an acoustically reworked version of the original from Rush as tribute to Neil Peart.
