About the Band

Charma D Star

Music Artist

In 1998, Charma attended Kingsland Secondary School in East London, Hackney where his passion for music began. During the late 90’s/early 2000s UK Garage & Grime was popular in the music scene and became Charma’s first step into the music industry. He became part of a UK Garage crew called D.N.A where they performed original songs at local community center’s and shared the mic with a few well-known Grime artists such as Nappa n Shizzle. The crew disbanded in 1999 with members embarking on their own solo career’s. Mid-2006; Charma connected with Montserratian rap artist Young Blee who was working on his own record label at the time named Cross-Seas Entertainment. It was during this time Charma found his sound in Dancehall and Soca music working alongside Blee on a few projects such as the Midnight Walk Riddim & Black Ice Riddim.

2007 to 2013 Charma went on a hiatus from music after being
blessed with 2 beautiful daughters. He made his
long-awaited return to the music scene mid- 2013 with his
first hit Good Love produced by Soca Child from
Riddim Up Productions. Later that same year, Charma and
Soca Child recorded & produced 2 hit songs Party Master and
Have a Good Time. Have a Good Time was featured on the
Tropic Fruits Riddim project. Charma joined the Riddim Up
Family later that year.
