Kim Szabo has a performance and recording resume that spans Canada and internationally from Japan to Switzerland to Germany.

Kim can be heard in Calgary as a featured vocalist with the Fox Big Band, Summit Big Band and in her own duo, trio and quartet ensembles. The Kim Szabo Quartet performed at the TD JazzYYC Summer Jazz Festival in 2021 and she performs regularly around Calgary including Alvin’s Jazz Club, the Ironwood and Asylum for Art, to name just a few.

Upon completing her studies at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Kim went overseas in 1989 and took her talents to Japan as a house pianist/vocalist in Osaka, including performances in Tokyo, Kobe, Kyoto and Okinawa Island as a touring and recording artist with various groups. 1994 through to 2007 saw Kim performing and touring throughout Germany with her home base in Frankfurt, and while there she spent 4 years as head vocal instructor at the Frankfurt Music Academy for Jazz (Frankfurt Musikwerkstadt) and adjudicator for jazz vocalists challenging German national exams for a degree in jazz.
