When you hear ADUBB’s sound, it captivates you and transports your mind to another space in time. A very nostalgic feeling as most would say. That is the impression given by ADUBB, otherwise known as Asia Wilson, from the soulful city of Memphis, TN. ADUBB wears many hats such as musician, producer, singer/songwriter, engineer; really just an overall solid artist. Starting out as a trumpet player, ADUBB is able to pull from many genres as a result of her education and playing experience from professional gigs. Examples being jazz, latin, blues, neo-soul, r&b, and more. Later on, it was able to translate creatively through self-written works. The XOXO EP released in 2023 really established ADUBB’s sound for the first release from the artist. The project is very smooth and dreamy from the production to the vocals. Not only is the project great but it sounds even better live. This was only the first stone set for the artist ADUBB to build on. Since then, ADUBB has been able to perform locally at numerous events. The most notable was the 2024 Annual Juneteenth Festival hosted by TONE and the 2024 Tambourine Bash. There is much more to expect from ADUBB in the near future such as production for other artists, local collaborations, more performances, and of course, more music.
